The short answer — “Yes!”. Now let’s dive a bit deeper here…

The company’s PowerPoint template(and you can change the word “PowerPoint” with “Google Slides”, “Keynote” or any other product that you use for your presentations) is or at least must be part of your corporate identity. Interestingly enough, today, the way people think about your brand and what they associate it with is the “modern currency”, as many people correctly like to say.

And here’s where it gets really interesting. According to a study published by David G. Levasseur and Kanan Sawyer, back in 2006, Microsoft estimated that 1.25 million PowerPoint presentations are done every hour. That’s a big number and I can assure you that in 2016 — it’s even bigger. It’s not smaller.

At the same time, think about how you communicate in your company — aren’t presentations one of the most used “ways” of exchanging ideas and information after writing e-mails?

Then why are so many company presentations ineffective?

One of the answers is your PowerPoint template and in case you have such already, I am almost sure that unfortunately… it’s not a proper one.

So do you need a proper PowerPoint template?

I guess you have to ask yourself these five questions:

– Do we have a lot of presentations going on inside and outside the company?

– Do we want all of our presentations to look consistent as they were created by one and the same company and brand?

– Do we sometimes need to be able to create those presentations in a very short period of time?

– Are we reusing slides from previous presentations?

– And at the end of the day, do we want to be even more productive?

A PowerPoint template allows you to achieve all of the above.

So if you are reading this and you are in a managing role — it’s you that has to step up and work towards this because your team do not have to be extremely trained PowerPoint gurus, designers and at the same time experts in their area.

And if you are the employee in the company — it’s you that has to start the discussion, ask and expect a proper PowerPoint template because it should not be your responsibility to know what colors, fonts and layouts to use and what’s more — why should you also lose the time of your fellow teammate who you noticed has some design skills and knows how to do advanced things in PowerPoint? It just doesn’t make sense…
