How to Embed a Video in Google Slides

Inserting a video into your presentation is one of the easiest ways to engage your audience. After all, adding some movement to your slides can really energise the viewers.

Thankfully, just like most things Google, the process of adding a video to your presentation is super straightforward.

Let us show you how to embed a video in Google Slides.

1. Open your Google Slides presentation. Go to the slide you want to embed the video into, click on the Insert tab and choose Video from the dropdown.

2. Select the video. You have three options here – embed a YouTube video, search one by URL or insert one from Google Drive.

When searching for YouTube videos, try to be very specific with the search words. When you find what you’re looking for, select it and it will appear in blue, as shown below.

You can link a video that’s on your Drive but need to be mindful of the access. You’ll have to share the file location with everyone who’ll be viewing the presentation.

Edit the video. Now that you’ve successfully inserted the video into your Google Slides presentation, you may want to use the Format options that appear on the right to determine when the video will start or adjust its position and size.
