Mixing slides from various presentation decks is not OK. We now know that.

Now onto another very disturbing mistake I personally saw in one of the future trainers that I immediately addressed in person with him after his presentation ended.

Mistake: Talking like you are a god and your audience are your slaves!?

Why is this a problem: Your audience will shut you down quickly. Very, very quickly. And that’s the first option. The other one is someone (or a group of people) will start bombarding you with questions that you are not going to be able to answer and they are going to crush your reputation like you cannot imagine. Then someone will tweet that you are a complete jerk and then a few other people will retweet that. That can be the end of your career, so wanna go that path? Be my guest and enjoy the ride.

Solution: You are in front of your audience to help them become better. To move them. To change them. You have to speak and communicate with them as you are a friend and a mentor and not as someone who believes that those people in front of you are somehow insignificant and unimportant.

Here, now you are 28 steps closer to becoming a great trainer. ?
